For more than 200 years, Westonians have been “paying it forward” — helping future generations of students by including Westtown in their financial and estate plans. Planned giving is not just for the wealthy. It is for everyone who wishes to be a good steward: to use all the assets they have for the benefit of all the people and charities they love.
With careful planning, you can be part of this tradition. Please take a look at some of the ways that you can leverage your assets – real estate, retirement plans, insurance policies and more – to provide for your financial security and also invest in Westtown’s future.
We are happy to work with you and your financial or legal advisor to consider which planned giving options are best for you and your family. To get the conversation started, call Ray Slater, Director of Planned Giving, at 610-399-7917, or send an email to ray.slater@westtown.edu.
You can direct your gift — whether current or future — to whatever purpose you find most compelling: student financial aid, support for faculty, etc. Or your gift can be unrestricted, so it can be applied to the area of greatest need at the time it is received. What’s more, you can make your gift in honor or memory of someone who shares your love of Westtown.
If you have already provided for Westtown School in your estate plan, or if you do so in the future, please let us know so that we can be prepared to fulfill your intentions faithfully. You can complete the Statement of Testamentary Intention or just send an email to ray.slater@westtown.edu. We will keep your information confidential.
With your permission, we will welcome you into the KOB Society, an honorary membership circle for people who have established legacy gifts to Westtown. A time-honored tradition at Westtown, the KOB (Kindness of Bearer) is a message written on a piece of paper and folded into a small packet to protect its privacy. The KOB is then delivered to the intended recipient by a trusted friend. Creating a planned gift is like sending a KOB to future Westonians: it is a personal message, conveyed in trust, that expresses your feelings for your school and your desire to see it prosper.
This information is general in nature and not intended as legal advice. Please talk to your legal or financial advisor about your specific circumstances.
