Our Program

Westtown School has been known for its high academic standards and strong sense of community since it was established in 1799 by Philadelphia Quakers. The Westtown educational experience is based on essential Quaker principles of respect for others, personal responsibility, integrity, equality, simplicity, and service. A Westtown education is known internationally for providing students with a remarkable learning and growing environment.

Westtown Kindergarten School

Westtown School offers an education in which young children continually find wonder in learning, middle schoolers turns volatile energy into academic and personal momentum, and high school students move forward into advanced academic exploration, self-knowledge, and independent purpose.

Westtown emphasizes social consciousness while helping young people translate it into social activism. The school embraces authentic diversity and—through a commitment to service, its international student body, and unique residential life program—offers a truly global education, recognizing that today’s world needs leaders who are grounded in multiple perspectives.

Westtown Day and Boarding School

Westtown educates students to be environmentally aware and to value stewardship of the earth. All of these things are rooted in the values of Friends and the expectation of academic excellence.

We believe a good education makes you think about four essential things: who I am…how I see the world…how I want to live…what I can give back. Since 1799, that’s exactly what Westtown has done best. Because at Westtown School, that’s what matters most. We invite you to explore our program in all its depth and richness.
