Empowering Potential: Investing in Westtown’s Educators and Programs

At the heart of Westtown are the dedicated educators who inspire, mentor, and guide our students. To maintain the highest standards of teaching, we are committed to investing in faculty development. In countless ways, our teachers foster in students a love of learning, an appreciation for Quaker values and spiritual reflection, and interpersonal skills for a fulfilling and successful life. By supporting professional development opportunities for our teachers to innovate and grow, we ensure that Westtown’s educational experience remains dynamic, relevant, and impactful for future generations.

Stories of beloved teachers— from decades past to today— spark emotion from many Westonians who realize the significant and lasting impact teachers had on their lives. Our team of approximately 175 full- and part-time teachers, coaches, deans, dorm parents, and other education professionals cultivate a distinctive, action-based education that prepares and inspires students to be leaders of a better world.

Professional learning opportunities engage, empower, and enable our faculty to deepen their skills so that they can be innovators who deliver excellence in the classroom. It is a critical investment in our faculty and our students.

Last year, faculty participated in more than 300 professional workshops, conferences, online courses, and professional membership organizations.

Programmatic needs include equipment, travel, library resources, speakers, and curriculum-related activities.

All three pillars of our Strategic Vision are focused on our students’ growth, and our faculty must be prepared to lead them as they grow. In countless ways, our teachers foster in students a love of learning, an appreciation for Quaker values and spiritual reflection, as well as interpersonal skills for a fulfilling and successful life.
